arsenal who?
arsenal productions is the brain (?) child of Scott Poulin. A friend once described me as a
polymath, and though I'll accept that my knowledge
covers various subject matter, the word otherwise invites comparisons that will inevitably leave me on the losing end.
Let's just say I'm good at a bunch of different things, some of which are on display here:
Any of the above skills can be put to work for you. I'm responsive, responsible, have a good set of ears, and am interested in building lasting, professional relationships with my clients.
Let's just say I'm good at a bunch of different things, some of which are on display here:
- electronic music, a type of music that is microcategorized in such detail that only
scenesters and diehards can keep track of it all. Loose descriptions of my music might include breakbeat and downtempo.
Influences and likes include:
- Breakbeat: Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Crystal Method (Tweekend & Vegas), Underworld
- Downtempo: Thievery Corporation, Federico Aubele, Aim, Blue States, Jel, Lemongrass, Thievery Corporation (they deserve mention twice)
- Rap & Hip-Hop: Nas, KRS-One (once upon a time), just about any track by Premier, Eminem, Dr. Dre's production of course, DJ Muggs, Wu-Tang prior to 1998 or so, Public Enemy, and I really dig Timbaland's beats. Yeah, it's mostly old stuff.
- Recording, mixing, and mastering engineer at arsenal productions headquarters, working mostly with hip-hop and r & b artists and producers
- Occasional sound designer and editor for independent films
- Oh yeah, I make web sites and do graphic design, too.
Why should you care?
